INTRODUCTION
The English School of Asturias was founded by a group of parents who saw the need to create an international school that could provide a quality British Education for both the national and international community in Asturias.
We are a member of the Nationals Association of British Schools in Spain.
CURRICULUM
We have a British curriculum that also includes approximately a quarter of the timetable devoted to Spanish subjects. All students work towards British IGCSE examinations leading to A levels. Students have access to universities in Spain and the UK.
STAFF
Apart from the Spanish teachers all the staff are British, well qualified and experienced.
FACILITIES
The school building is only 5 years old equipped with a modern library, large gymnasium, ICT and science labs. We have just begun a new building programme of five new classrooms to extend the Infant school.
The school is set in countryside with views of mountains and trees.
SCHOOL YEAR AND SCHOOL DAY
Students begin in early September and finish in the third week in June.
The school day begins at 9.20am and ends at 4.25pm
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
We are a small and family oriented school that provides a quality education for children of all abilities. We are hoping to educate the whole child, fulfilling their potential to become lifelong learners, ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.
